Senior Services of Alexandria

Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) was founded in 1968 by a group of dedicated and visionary City residents committed to improving the lives of seniors in our community. In partnership with the City of Alexandria, donors, faith communities, and volunteers, SSA continues to provide vital programs and services for seniors in our community, including Meals on Wheels, DOT Para-transit Services, and a Senior Citizens’ Resource Center offering employment assistance, daily money management, local service provider and in-home care referrals, as well as other services. SSA is an important link between aging citizens and other community members. With a dedicated board and staff, SSA will continue to advocate and work to fulfill its mission, “to foster independence and self-sufficiency, enabling seniors within the City of Alexandria to age with dignity.”
